Portsmouth fans mind-blown by what player did in Sheffield Wednesday draw

Portsmouth supporters were impressed by Harvey Blair against Sheffield Wednesday.

Pompey picked up a point against the Owls as they continue their brilliant end to the season, which has guaranteed their safety in the second tier of English football.

John Mousinho’s men had already secured their safety heading into this fixture, but they were able to continue their strong run of form as the two teams battled out a 1-1 draw.

Portsmouth have typically struggled away from Fratton Park this season, but they have pulled out some important results on the road when it has mattered.

The South Coast club have now gone four games unbeaten in a row, picking up a couple of draws and victories as they look to end the season in style.

Pompey will finish off the season next Saturday (3 May) against Hull City, where a victory has the potential to see them climb up to 13th in the table.

Harvey Blair has a game to remember

Portsmouth got off to the worst possible start against Sheffield Wednesday when they conceded in the ninth minute of the game, with Callum Peterson finding the back of the net.

However, Mousinho’s side weren’t behind for long as Blair scored an equaliser in what was his first ever professional goal of his career.

Mousinho had handed Blair his first start for the Blues since October, and the winger repaid his manager’s faith by delivering great attacking output and getting himself on the scoresheet.

The two teams then battled out a rather cagey draw in a game that had the atmosphere of two teams with little to play for.

Portsmouth fans feel Blair has potential

Portsmouth fans were left impressed by what they saw from Blair during the game, praising him for his overall performance, and not just his goal.

The 21-year-old is someone to keep an eye on for the future as far as Pompey fans are concerned, with some believing that he has got “directness” that they want to see from a winger.
