Liverpool ace sends Harvey Blair message after Sheffield Wednesday v Portsmouth
Harvey Blair scored his first goal for Portsmouth in their 1-1 draw against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
Portsmouth secured safety from relegation by claiming a point against the Owls at Hillsborough on 26 April, with Blair nullifying Callum Paterson’s early opener.
The game was of significance to Blair, as he made only his second start for Pompey since joining them from Liverpool last summer.
Blair marked the occasion by scoring the first professional goal of his career, getting the end of a Josh Murphy cross to tap the ball in.

Blair later took to social media to express his delight at scoring his first goal for Portsmouth, while also tipping his hat to his teammates.
“Top shift from the lads today, Happy to get my first professional Goal. PUP. God is Great”, the attacker wrote on Instagram (27 April).

Murphy, Callum Lang and Terry Devlin were among those who instantly reacted to Blair’s latest social media post.
However, it also caught the attention of several Liverpool players, including Rhys Williams, who posted a red heart emoji in support of his former teammate.
Luke Chambers also expressed his joy for Blair, writing: “Love it, brother.”
Jayden Danns, Isaac Mabaya and James McConnell were also among those who chimed in.

Portsmouth survive in Championship
Meanwhile, John Mousinho will be relieved after Portsmouth officially confirmed their place in the Championship next season.
Pompey have one of the smallest budgets in the division, and surviving relegation immediately after earning promotion from League One was always going to be a huge challenge.
The Fratton Park outfit would have feared for the worst after they went through their first nine league games of the season without a win.
However, Mousinho eventually managed to pull the Hampshire-based club out of the relegation zone, thanks to contributions from the likes of Murphy.
Portsmouth will now be looking forward to next season, although they have one more game left to play.
