Portsmouth must go all out to persuade West Ham to agree Potts deal
Portsmouth look set to lose Freddie Potts to West Ham United next season.
The Blues have been in a celebratory mode recently after securing their status in the second tier of English football for next season.
Portsmouth have delivered positive results when it has mattered the most, with their home form at Fratton Park being particularly important to that
Pompey have been able to relax for the final few games of the season, knowing full well they have achieved their goal, but the focus must be on next season and not returning to that point.

Portsmouth must try and extend Freddie Potts’ deal
John Mousinho has worked miracles at Fratton Park with the lowest budget in the league, having put together a squad featuring loans and cheaper deals.
While not all of those transfers worked, the decision to bring Pots in on a season-long loan certainly did, as the 21-year-old has been an important member of the squad.
He joined the South Coast club in a bid to gain some much-needed game time to develop his career, but he’s now poised to go back to West Ham.
Graham Potter is set to welcome the youngster back into his squad, and the new Hammers boss is believed to be eager to have him in his squad.
That will be a significant blow for Pompey, as Potts has been a regular feature in the starting lineup this season.
Portsmouth must now try and do everything in their power to bring him back for next season, so he can be part of their development as Pompey look to kick on.

While signing Potts on a full-time basis might prove to be difficult, the Blues should go all out in trying to secure a loan deal, even if it’s just until January.

John Mousinho won’t want to lose Freddie Potts
Mousinho will find it difficult to replace Potts next season, given the limited budget he’s expected to be working with during the summer.
Even if he does identify a talented player, they will then need time to get up to speed and get used to the squad, whereas Potts is already part of the system.
Keeping Potts for one more season would allow Mousinho to go and strengthen in other areas to try and bring the squad’s overall quality up a notch.
