Alex Crook worried he’ll get in trouble after Arsenal and Portsmouth question

Alex Crook feared he would get into trouble over a question posed to him about Portsmouth and Arsenal.

The journalist was in attendance for Arsenal’s Champions League semi-final against PSG at Emirates Stadium, where they were defeated 1-0.

The Gunners will have a lot of work to do in the second leg, and the expectation will be that the travelling support to play a key role in the game.

Mikel Arteta had pushed the Arsenal fanbase to get behind the team, but the fourth-minute goal certainly knocked the wind out of their sails.

Alex Crook not impressed by Arsenal atmosphere

Arsenal put up a tifo before the game, and worked hard to create a legitimate atmosphere for the team to tap into throughout the 90 minutes.

However, the Gunners were unable to take advantage of playing in front of their fans, but the overall atmosphere wasn’t at the level people had hoped.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Crook was pushed to compare the atmosphere at Emirates Stadium to that of Fratton Park, which he regularly attends.

He joked that hosts Gabby Agbonlahor and Shebahn Aherne were trying to get him into trouble with Arsenal supporters, but he did go on to confess: “Yes, Fratton Park would be louder.”

It was a statement that surprised Gabby Agbonlahor, but it was an admission that will undoubtedly please Pompey fans to hear.

Fratton Park will be rocking on Saturday

Portsmouth will be at home this Saturday (3 May) for the final game of the season when they host Hull City.

The Blues faithful will look to get Fratton Park rocking to the level that Crook expects, which has been set at a high standard throughout the season.

Portsmouth are going to be in a celebratory mood due to the fact that they have successfully avoided relegation this season, which was the key target for John Mousinho this season.

The Pompey boss was pushing to keep the club afloat, and now his team have the opportunity to relegate Hull, if they end up defeating them at the weekend.

The Tigers will need to secure a minimum of a point if they want to survive this season, and but after four consecutive results without a loss, the Blues will aim to keep their run going.
