‘Josh Murphy played final game for Portsmouth’ amid final day announcement
Josh Murphy may be on his way out of Portsmouth after the draw against Hull City on Saturday.
The Tigers travelled to Fratton Park on 3 May and played out a draw with Christian Saydee netting a second-half equaliser.
This saw both sides secure their survival in the Championship with both side’s now looking ahead to a busy summer ready for the new season.
With that in mind, John Mousinho could soon be looking for a Murphy alternative after an announcement was made at Pompey.

Murphy at centre of Portsmouth announcement
There is no doubt that the 30-year-old has had a superb campaign since surprisingly signing from Oxford United in the summer.
This has seen the winger net seven and assist 14 in the Championship, placing among the best players in the division for goal output.
Stat (Championship 24/25) | Josh Murphy |
Appearances | 42 |
Goals | 7 |
Assists | 14 |
This has seen the Englishman play a key role as the PO4 club achieved survival with plenty of time to spare after earning promotion last season.
As a result, it is little surprise that Murphy has been announced as the Portsmouth player of the season in his debut year in blue.
As positive as this may be to Mousinho and Co. it is bound to pique the interest of teams towards the top end of the Championship.
If a side with genuine promotion credentials were to come in and attempt to sign the ex-Norwich City man, there is every chance he could take the chance to move.
This would mean that the draw against Hull on the final day represented the final call for the winger on the south coast.

Murphy could depart Portsmouth in summer
It would certainly represent a blow for Pompey if they were to lose out on the services of Murphy after just one campaign.
The ex-Cardiff City man has been simply superb and has played a large role in earning a place in the second-tier for next campaign.
If he were to depart, it would leave Mousinho with the likes of Harvey Blair and Matt Ritchie as wing options, which would be a worry for supporters.
It will be interesting to see if the head coach can convince the forward to stay and what it would mean if a departure were in mind at Fratton Park.
