Kaide Gordon sends new message as Portsmouth exit confirmed
Kaide Gordon’s disappointing stint at Portsmouth has come to an end, as he returns to Liverpool in time to watch them lift the Premier League title.
The 20-year-old spent the second half of the season at Portsmouth after struggling for playing time at Norwich.
Gordon did not see his minutes improve much at Pompey, playing only 150 minutes in the Championship since his arrival at Fratton Park.
The right-winger will now head back to Liverpool after finishing his loan spell at Fratton Park, but not before leaving a hearty message in his wake.

Gordon sends farewell to Portsmouth fans
Gordon struggled to make an impact for Portsmouth in the few minutes he has had this season.
His most lively performance came off the bench during a 1-0 defeat for Portsmouth against Luton Town (1 March), completing all of his dribbling and ground duel attempts.
Match | Minutes | Accurate Passes | Chances Created | Shots on Target | Successful Dribbles | Ground Duels Won |
v. Sheffield United | 8′ | 1/2 | 0/0 | 0/0 | 0/0 | 2/2 |
v. Luton Town | 45′ | 12/16 | 0/0 | 0/0 | 1/1 | 4/4 |
v. Plymouth | 35′ | 8/10 | 0/0 | 0/1 | 0/2 | 0/3 |
v. Preston | 31′ | 3/5 | 0/0 | 0/0 | 0/0 | 0/0 |
v. Sheffield Wednesday | 31′ | 4/5 | 0/0 | 0/0 | 0/0 | 0/1 |
While unable to receive all he was hoping for during his time at the Championship club, Gordon took to Instagram (6 May) to thank fans for their support.
“Thank you to everyone at Pompey,” he wrote. “All the best for the future.”

Gordon needs to use long-term Liverpool deal to his advantage
Gordon was one of the biggest talents in England when Liverpool signed him from Derby County in 2021.
However, his progress has been plagued by several long-term injuries starting in 2023, and the youngster has struggled to pick up his previous form since.
Despite the lack of playing time, the deadline recruit revealed Mousinho had instructed him not to shy away when on the ball and to create for his teammates.
Unfortunately, his ask appears too big for Gordon, who was unable to create a single chance for Portsmouth in the Championship this season.
The youngster, once brimming with confidence, will return to Liverpool at the start of July when Arne Slot’s title-winning side begins pre-season training.
While it is unknown whether Gordon will be able to kick-start his career once more, after signing a new long-term contract at Anfield in May 2024, he may still be in with a fighting chance.
