John Mousinho now in running for Norwich job while Portsmouth hero’s odds slashed
Portsmouth boss John Mousinho has enjoyed a successful season at Fratton Park and steered his side to Championship safety.
One year on from winning the League One title, Mousinho’s men secured their second-tier status with consecutive wins over Norwich and Watford on Easter weekend.
The Fratton Park club ended their campaign on a five-game unbeaten streak, thanks to back-to-back draws with Sheffield Wednesday and Hull in their last two fixtures.
Mousinho’s success with Portsmouth this term has not gone unnoticed, and he is in the frame to become Tony Mowbray’s replacement at West Brom.

Mousinho joins Gary O’Neil in the running for Norwich job
The Championship’s well-renowned managerial merry-go-round has been in full swing in recent weeks, as Norwich have sacked Johannes Hoff Thorup, while Watford dismissed Tom Cleverley.
Oddschecker shows that Mousinho is in the frame to become Norwich’s next boss, with odds of 16/1, while former Pompey stalwart O’Neil is one of the favourites, with odds of just 4/1.
O’Neil could be keen on dropping to the Championship in an effort to reignite his managerial career after being sacked by Premier League Wolves in December.

Mousinho may not be eager to leave Portsmouth in favour of Norwich
Mousinho has taken to Championship management very well, and having only previously managed Portsmouth in League One, he successfully guided the Blues to second-tier safety with two games to spare.
It is therefore no surprise that established Championship outfits such as Norwich and West Brom have set their sights on the 39-year-old’s services.
However, Mousinho is perhaps unlikely to leave Fratton Park in favour of Norwich, as the Canaries finished just three points above Pompey.
Furthermore, after landing their second mid-table finish in three seasons, the Carrow Road side could be set to lose some of their best players in the transfer window, such as Borja Sainz and Josh Sargent.
Mousinho has established a positive project at Portsmouth, and may be unlikely to turn his back on the Blues after steering them to a comfortable Championship campaign.
The likes of Josh Murphy and Callum Lang have shown their quality in the second tier under Mousinho, and Portsmouth could be set for an even better season next term.
