Abdoulie Manneh set for ‘lucrative’ transfer as Portsmouth make approach
Portsmouth are in the market for more attacking options next season, and have now joined the race for an in-demand forward.
Pompey secured Championship survival in an impressive first campaign after a 12-year absence, and will now look to move further up the table.
John Mousinho’s side have a lower budget than most of their rivals, and they will need to be smart in the transfer market.
Striker Abdoulie Manneh could be the right profile of signing in this regard, and Portsmouth have now made an approach for him.

Portsmouth make enquiry over Manneh transfer
Manneh has enjoyed a productive first season in European football at Swedish side Mjallby, and has now been linked with clubs in the Premier League and Championship.
Mirror Sport (11 May) have now reported that Portsmouth, as well as Burnley, Wolves and Brighton, are all interested in the Gambian attacker.
The 20-year-old has caught the eye in Sweden, scoring seven times in 12 games from the left wing this season, and clubs in Europe are said to be tracking him.

It is believed that he can succeed in the top leagues in Europe, with the Gambia international possessing a lot of potential, and there is a big race to sign him this summer.
Portsmouth have made “explanatory checks” on Manneh, with the attacker available for under £4 million, in what would be a “lucrative” sale for the Swedish side.
Portsmouth involved in Manneh transfer battle
With top-flight clubs also interested in Manneh, it will be tough for Portsmouth to win the battle for his signature, but they cannot be ruled out.
It is unlikely that Manneh is ready to start or feature regularly in the Premier League, meaning that a Championship move could be the better deal for the player.
While Brighton may sign and loan him out, Portsmouth would be able to offer him a stable environment to play in, and regular game time either as a second striker or a winger.
If Manneh was to succeed under Mousinho, then his value would increase and he could gain a bigger move anyway, with Portsmouth profiting in the process, and this could play a part in the player’s decision.
