Portsmouth set for announcement, Fratton Park paperwork to be done
Portsmouth are set to make a significant announcement in the coming hours as paperwork is being finalised at Fratton Park.
Pompey retained their Championship status this season, which was arguably the goal after winning promotion from League One.
John Mousinho has done an impressive job at Fratton Park, and will now be looking towards Michael Eisner to back him next summer.
Before any squad planning can be made ahead of the upcoming transfer window, the Hampshire outfit need to determine who they’ll keep after a successful campaign.

Portsmouth to announce retained list in coming days
Pompey’s retained list could be out in the coming hours, Neil Allen says.
The News journalist reassured supporters that there was nothing to worry about and an announcement could be expected on Monday (12 May) or the next day at Fratton Park.

Allen revealed that the Hampshire outfit were just completing some paperwork and signing off on a few things before releasing their list.
The journalist wrote on X (12 May): “A few of you have been asking about this (not unreasonably!). I’m told Pompey’s retained list could be out today or tomorrow. Nothing untoward, just a bit of paperwork and signing a few things off. Standard procedure.
“Not many Championship clubs have announced theirs so far.”

Mousinho will hope loanees return to Fratton Park
Freddie Potts returned to West Ham United after an impressive spell at the Hampshire outfit.
Rob Atkinson also joined Fratton Park on loan from Bristol City in the winter transfer window and played a pivotal role in helping the Blues avoid relegation.
The likes of Andre Dozzelle, Kusinin Yengi and Zak Swanson’s contracts expire in the coming weeks, although Pompey do have the option to extend their stay by another year.
Portsmouth must also decide what to do with Alexander Milosevic, Cohen Bramall and Ben Killip.
Isaac Hayden is another player who starred on loan at the Hampshire outfit, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them pursue his return next summer.
Mousinho has shown he can make progress at Fratton Park, but it’s now down to the recruitment department to reinforce his squad.
Pompey can’t expect the English manager to climb further up the Championship table in the upcoming campaign with a depleted squad.
Supporters will be hoping the Blues can avoid being in a relegation battle next season, which will arguably require Eisner to invest heavily in new signings.
The announcement of the retained list will be one to watch.
