Reading could celebrate takeover with Bramall transfer after Portsmouth developments
Cohen Bramall has a slim chance of remaining at Portsmouth despite his announced exit, but there is already interest growing in him.
Bramall joined in the January transfer window amid an injury crisis and had some impressive moments in the 12 appearances he made at Fratton Park.
However, Portsmouth have elected to avoid giving the left-back a new contract so far, and he will now depart on a free transfer.
League One side Reading missed out on the play-offs to return to the Championship at the final hurdle, but they did have an even bigger positive to celebrate.

Reading want to sign Bramall after takeover
Although Reading will not be in the Championship next season, they will be excited as Redwood Holdings Limited has now completed a takeover.
This comes after years of mismanagement from previous owner Dai Yongge, who oversaw years of financial mismanagement, points deductions and worsening form on the pitch.
With the takeover completed in recent weeks, saving the club from liquidation, Reading can now look forward to the transfer window.

The Deck has reported (17 May) that Reading, as well as several other League One and Two sides, are interested in signing Bramall on a free transfer this summer.
Reading are among the sides who have already made an enquiry into signing the defender, who reportedly wants to assess all of his options before making a decision over his future.
Despite this, John Mousinho has hinted that a deal could be offered to stay in blue later in the summer.

Bramall could still stay at Portsmouth
Although Bramall was included on Portsmouth’s retained list, which was confirmed in recent days, he could still stay at Fratton Park.
Bramall made four starts in the Championship for Pompey following his arrival, but they won just one of these four clashes.
The 29-year-old may be better-suited to League One football, but Portsmouth may see the benefit in keeping an experienced player as depth.
Connor Ogilvie is the club’s first-choice left-back, but they could enter the market for more competition in the position if Bramall does end up moving elsewhere.
Bramall’s versatility could do him favours if he stays at Fratton Park, as he may be seen as a utility player capable of covering several positions, and keeping him would make sense financially.
Reading could be one of those options.
