Colchester want to sign exit-bound Portsmouth player after announcement
Colchester United could be in line to make a transfer swoop at Portsmouth ahead of the summer.
Pompey survived in the Championship with time to spare but will still be desperate to improve their squad moving into the new campaign.
This could see a number of incoming transfers under John Mousinho, who will be keen to build on the positivity after a positive year in the second tier.
Although additions will be a focus moving into the summer, departures will also be on the cards, with Colchester United potentially set to step in.

Colchester United target Portsmouth transfer
There is set to be a large number of outgoing deals from Fratton Park as the summer window nears.
This has already seen six loanees, including Rob Atkinson and Freddie Potts, depart, with a number of others set to follow them out the door.
Now that Pompey have named their retained list, a number of sides are going to be sniffing around to take advantage of the departures from PO4.
Kusini Yengi, Tom Lowery, Alexander Milošević, Anthony Scully and Cohen Bramall are all set to depart at the end of the campaign as their contracts expire.
It is the latter that has already seen interest build with the former Arsenal full-back attracting interest from across League One, according to The Deck News (18 May).
League Two side Colchester United have also shown an interest in the 29-year-old, who is set to assess all options before deciding on his future.
This could see the defender remain at Pompey while Reading of the third-tier have also shown an interest after their change in ownership went through earlier in the month.

Portsmouth have Bramall transfer decision to make
There is likely to be a varied transfer policy utilised in PO4 this summer as Mousinho and Co. look to build a squad ready to compete.
This could see Bramall play a useful role if given the chance, given his experiences across a number of divisions, including 12 appearances in blue last season.
Club | Appearances |
Portsmouth | 12 |
Rotherham United | 102 |
Lincoln City | 54 |
Colchester United | 57 |
Birmingham City | 8 |
The Englishman would provide positive competition for the likes of Connor Ogilvie, who certainly showcased his ability towards the end of the season.
With that in mind, it will certainly be interesting to see what happens over the future of Bramall, but on a free, the south coast club could do much worse than signing him again.
