Mousinho delighted with Portsmouth contract agreement after question marks
Portsmouth have made a great start to their summer activity, as they look to set their foundations for next season already.
Pompey have enjoyed a successful first season back in the Championship, finishing 16th after ending the campaign with a five-game unbeaten streak.
The Fratton Park outfit are looking to bolster their squad this summer to push further away from any relegation fears next season, whilst also looking to keep hold of their key assets.
Two big names are already confirmed to be sticking around, too.

Zak Swanson will remain at Portsmouth
Portsmouth have confirmed that Zak Swanson has activated an option in his contract and will remain on the south coast next season.
Swanson, 24, signed a one-year deal last summer with the option of an additional 12 months.
Mousinho couldn’t hide his delight at having the right-back stay at Fratton Park for an extra year.
Speaking via Portsmouth’s YouTube channel: “Yeah, really pleased, both [Swanson and Andre Dozzell] have been a big part of what we achieved this year.
“There were probably quite a few question marks asked about Zak going into the season, particularly around his robustness, his ability to play games at this level.
“So to come away with the amount of starts that he had and some of the levels of performance that he did, it’s brilliant to have Zak with us for another year.”
Incomings expected and outgoings confirmed at Fratton Park
Mousinho also discussed players set to leave the seaside club, with Kusini Yengi being the key stand out to be departing Fratton Park.
Yengi made key contributions to the side during their League One title victory in 2024, scoring nine times in 26 appearances, before suffering an injury-hit campaign in 2024/25.
The Portsmouth boss commended the forward for his contributions, calling him an early fan favourite who stepped up when needed in his two years on the south coast.
Cohen Bramall, Tom Lowery, Anthony Scully and Alexander Milosevic were all confirmed to leaving alongside Yengi.

Mousinho hopes the summer break will allow the likes of Ibane Bowat, Jacob Farrell, and Hayden Matthews to return from long-term injuries in time for the start of pre-season.
In terms of incomings, it was reported earlier this week that the Portsmouth boss is looking to bring in a striker before the transfer deadline in September.
With Christian Saydee potentially set to depart this summer for first-team football, Pompey’s options up front are limited to Colby Bishop and Callum Lang; therefore, Mousinho could upgrade his depth.
Portsmouth may also look to improve in the wide department to bring more output to the attack outside of Josh Murphy.
With 29 arrivals to Fratton Park in the last two seasons, Pompey look set for another season of change.
