Portsmouth transfers: Three players who could be sold at Fratton Park this summer
Portsmouth are preparing to improve their squad ready for their second season in the Championship.
The Fratton Park club registered a 16th-place finish this season, guaranteeing survival with two games to spare under John Mousinho.
Following this impressive performance, the Blues will now focus on the summer transfer window, which opens on 1 June, only hours away.
Supporters will be hoping Pompey can attract some talented new stars to the squad, although it’s possible that some players could be heading through the exit door.
Here, Pompey News examines three Portsmouth players who could be sold this summer.

Championship rivals could have their eyes on Josh Murphy
You’d be hard-pressed to find a Portsmouth fan who wants Josh Murphy to leave the club this summer.
The winger registered 14 assists last season, the joint most in the Championship, and was also named Portsmouth’s player of the season.
However, a return like that is likely to catch the attention of other Championship clubs. If Pompey were to receive a sizeable bid from a bigger club, it might be difficult to turn down.
Colby Bishop could attract bids from rival clubs
Similarly to Murphy, Colby Bishop is a fan favourite at Fratton Park.
His return of 11 goals in 32 matches made him the Blues’ top scorer this season.
The striker has proven he can score consistently in the second tier, but again, that might attract interest from other clubs.
Portsmouth Top Goalscorers 2024-25 | Goals |
Colby Bishop | 11 |
Calllum Lang | 10 |
Josh Murphy | 7 |
Since Portsmouth have one of the lowest budgets in the Championship, they would at least have to consider entertaining a reasonable bid.
Pompey would almost certainly have to find a replacement for Bishop if he is sold. Perhaps his sale could help to fund a bid for £4.2 million-rated Gambian striker Abdoulie Manneh.

Jordan Williams could be sold to boost Pompey transfer budget
Jordan Williams only arrived at Portsmouth this summer.
The versatile full-back put in some good displays during his first season at Fratton Park.
However, he was also plagued with a series of injuries, while Zak Swanson and Terry Devlin are more than capable at right-back.
So, Pompey may contemplate cashing in on Williams and reinvesting the money elsewhere in the squad.
