Crystal Palace and Ipswich aces – Three former stars Portsmouth have to re-sign
Portsmouth are set for another busy transfer window, with multiple signings needed at Fratton Park.
John Mousinho has hinted that signings will be made at Pompey this summer.
Portsmouth have lost multiple players over recent weeks as loanees returned to their parent clubs.
Therefore, signings are no doubt needed to help Mousinho bolster his numbers.
As a result, Pompey News has identified three former players Pompey should look to sign.

Joel Ward – Crystal Palace
One truly great story this season was Joel Ward’s. The Crystal Palace captain announced he was leaving Selhurst Park this season after 13 years.
In his final campaign, he finally ended the Eagles’ trophy curse as they lifted the FA Cup by beating Manchester City 1-0.
Ward is not expected to retire, and Portsmouth should look to make a move for the full-back.
The 35-year-old came through Portsmouth’s academy and played in the Premier League before he moved to Palace in 2012.
With all of his experience, Ward would be an excellent player to have in the dressing room for the upcoming campaign.
The full-back was also playing regular Premier League football up until this season. Therefore, he will likely be able to make the step down.

Jed Wallace – West Brom
Jed Wallace has been a mainstay in the Championship throughout the majority of his career.
The winger had a successful spell at Millwall and now finds himself at West Brom, where he is the captain.
However, the 2024/25 campaign was not a successful one for the 31-year-old as the Baggies missed out on the play-offs.
Wallace has been tipped to leave West Brom this summer, and Portsmouth could be the perfect destination.

The winger was a star at Fratton Park before his departure to Wolves in 2015.
If Pompey can get a good deal for Wallace, he would be an excellent signing for Mousinho.
The winger can provide goals and assists, and is another massive leader.
Conor Chaplin – Ipswich Town
While this may be a bit of a dream signing, it is not completely out of the question.
Conor Chaplin currently plays for Ipswich Town, and he was a crucial star in their promotion to the top flight.
However, in the Premier League, the attacker struggled, and he only netted once in the division.
With the attacker currently out of favour, he could pursue a move in the summer.
Portsmouth might be able to take advantage of this and bring in Chaplin on loan.
The 28-year-old played over 100 times for Pompey and helped the South Coast club get out of League Two back in 2017.
A star with his attacking output would be a massive coup for Mousinho, and with the transfer window having many twists and turns, it is not an impossible dream.
