Portsmouth fans in total agreement on Callum Lang social media post

Portsmouth may not yet have signed any new players in the summer transfer window, but they haven’t lost any of their existing key players either.

There had been fears that other Championship clubs would swarm around the likes of Josh Murphy or Colby Bishop, given their impressive displays for the Blues this past season.

However, as things stand, there have no bids from other clubs for any of Pompey’s top players.

Manager John Mousinho has been linked with moves to other clubs, but there have been no official enquiries for his services either.

Callum Lang social media post has fans all saying the same thing

Callum Lang is another star player that Pompey fans will be desperate to keep at Fratton Park.

The former Wigan Athletic man contributed with ten goals this season, despite missing a lengthy period of the season with a hamstring injury.

Now, a tribute post to Lang on X on Sunday (8 June) has led Pompey fans to all say the same thing about their number 49.

The Portsmouth X account retweeted a post from the Sky Bet Championship account asking about the best individual performance from this season, including photos of Lang’s four-goal haul against Coventry in December.

The replies to that post from Portsmouth fans were all pleading with the club to offer Lang a new contract.

Exciting times ahead for Lang at Fratton Park

Lang is out of contract in 2026, and that’s clearly a concern for some Pompey fans.

The playmaker was signed halfway through the 2023-24 season, and supporters won’t want him to leave anytime soon.

Given his performances this season, it wouldn’t be surprising to hear news of a new and improved contract later in the summer.

Either way, it will be exciting to see what he can do in a full season without injury in a Blues shirt.

The Fratton faithful adore Lang not just for his goalscoring prowess, but for his work rate on and off the ball.

The team plays better when Lang is in the starting XI, and they most likely would have secured survival had he not been sidelined with a hamstring injury.

And, yes, Lang’s four-goal masterclass against Coventry was the standout performance of the Championship season by a long distance.
