‘Premier League promotion in reach for Portsmouth thanks to what Eisner has planned’
Portsmouth fans will be hoping their team can progress even further after surviving in the Championship this season.
The Fratton Park side registered a 16th-place finish after being promoted to the second tier as League One champions.
Now, all eyes are on John Mousinho’s men to see if they can continue to progress and perhaps even challenge for promotion to the Premier League in the future.

Pompey TV deal could be key to future progression
The biggest hurdle blocking Portsmouth’s future progression is money.
Owner Michael Eisner is a wealthy man, of course, but Pompey are widely regarded as having one of the smallest budgets in the Championship.
And that looks unlikely to change unless something drastic happens at the club.
Eisner has recently shared his thoughts on investing in a behind-the-scenes documentary, detailing the daily events that fans don’t get to see at Fratton Park.
The likes of Wrexham and Sunderland have already produced similar documentaries, which skyrocketed interest in their clubs from overseas.
This idea has proven to be a real money-spinner for Wrexham in particular, and Eisner believes the same thing could work for his team.

Portsmouth will need to think outside the box to progress
These behind-the-scenes documentaries come with an element of risk.
They can be disruptive to the day-to-day business of running a football club. They can be considered a breach of privacy. Perhaps some players won’t want to be a part of it.
Some people consider them embarrassing or cringeworthy, especially now that a few of these programs have already been released. There’s a chance of audience fatigue and no-one outside of Portsmouth caring to learn about another English football team.

Still, if Portsmouth want to compete with the financial powerhouses in their division, they’ll need to be innovative. Otherwise, it’s going to be difficult to progress and Pompey will remain Championship underdogs at the very most.
Eisner is a former Disney CEO, so he knows a thing or two about successful media projects. If a Pompey documentary is announced, it could be the start of something really big for the Fratton Park club.
