Josh Murphy reacts as Portsmouth finalise goalkeeper deal
Josh Murphy has become one of Portsmouth’s star players since he moved to Fratton Park last summer.
The winger tore up the Championship last season as he led Pompey to survival.
As a result, Murphy won numerous awards at Portsmouth, including the Players’ Player of the Season and the Player of the Season Award.
After so much success, Pompey will want to keep the 30-year-old happy at Fratton Park in the hope he doesn’t have his head turned by other clubs.
Showing the South Coast club have ambition could be key to this as they look to tie down players to new contracts.

Josh Murphy shows his appreciation as Ben Killip pens new Portsmouth contract
Ben Killip joined Portsmouth in February from Barnsley to provide back-up in goal.
However, the goalkeeper still managed to make two appearances for Pompey as they survived relegation.
John Mousinho praised Killip for his performance in the 1-1 draw against Sheffield Wednesday, in what was his debut.
Now, Portsmouth announced on their Instagram (10 June) that they have awarded the goalkeeper a new two-year deal.
Murphy commented on the post with a clapping emoji as well as a raised hands emoji.
Killip a solid back-up at Portsmouth
While the news of Killip’s new deal is unlikely to excite fans, the goalkeeper is a solid back-up for Portsmouth.
In his two appearances for Pompey this season, the 29-year-old proved he is capable of playing at this level, conceding only twice.
Hopefully, further contracts will soon follow at Portsmouth to deter any clubs from snatching Mousinho’s best players this summer.
The backend of the 2024/25 campaign proved that Pompey’s squad is strong, and Mousinho should do everything in his power to ensure as many players as possible stay at Fratton Park.
