Portsmouth want to seal all-star Segecic transfer, he has just beaten Manchester United
Adrian Segecic could be the next Australian to light up Fratton Park with Portsmouth.
Segecic has enjoyed a sensational season with Sydney FC, finishing the campaign as the Australian A-League’s joint top scorer.
John Mousinho is no stranger to turning to Australia for potential recruits at Pompey, and Segecic could be the next recruit from down under.

Portsmouth ready to seal Segecic transfer
After securing a second consecutive season of Championship football, Mousinho is tasked with making the right additions to progress further.
However, with Wrexham and Birmingham City gaining promotion to the second tier, the pressure is on to be shrewd this summer.
Michael Eisner has proven the ability to do so thus far, often using foreign markets to the Blues’ advantage to get lower-cost transfers, and Segecic could be the next on that list.
According to Mark McMahon via X (14 June), Portsmouth have been keeping tabs on the attacker ahead of the transfer window reopening on Monday.
The 21-year-old played in the AFC Champions League 2, scoring five goals, which earned him a place in the ASEAN all-star team, who beat Manchester United in Malaysia at the end of May, with Segecic coming on as a substitute.
The winger is available on a free transfer this summer, with his current deal set to expire, and the door is open after a move to Rapid Vienna reportedly collapsed.
Portsmouth must push for Segecic transfer
Segecic is only 21 but has shown plenty of promise so far, meaning this could be a perfect time to bring him to the Championship.
Although signings from Australia haven’t always paid off in the way supporters would have hoped, the forward’s inclusion as an all-star shows there is plenty of promise.
Appearances | Goals | Assists |

Given he is also available on a free transfer, this comes with little risk for Pompey as they look to add to their side this summer.
Mousinho and Eisner must be clever over the transfer window, looking at opportunities from further afield, and this looks like it could be an exciting deal for the Fratton Park side.
