‘Mousinho must rethink’ amid latest Portsmouth and Abu Kamara news
Portsmouth fans gave Abu Kamara a warm welcome back to Fratton Park in May.
It was the last game of the season. Hull City were the opponents. The winger had chosen to sign for the Tigers earlier in the campaign, even though Pompey had expressed their interest in a permanent signing.
There was talk of Kamara perhaps returning to Fratton Park this summer instead, especially if Hull were to lose this game and be relegated to League One.
Hull picked up a draw, which was enough to keep them in the Championship. And that put an end to the speculation of a reunion between Kamara and Pompey.
Or so it seemed.

Kamara linked with a return to Portsmouth once again
Kamara enjoyed a great loan spell at Portsmouth the season before, contributing with eight goals and ten assists, as John Mousinho’s side lifted the League One title.
So, it was no surprise that Mousinho would be interested in recruiting him permanently, although the door had appeared to be closed on that deal.
However, the Hull Daily Mail (15 June) reports that Pompey remain interested in signing Kamara.
The deal supposedly relies on whether new Hull manager Sergej Jakirovic is willing to sell a key player.

Mousinho needs to rethink amid latest Kamara link
Pompey fans need not get too excited about this latest news linking Kamara with a move back to Fratton Park.
There’s every chance that Jakirovic decides the winger is a crucial part of his plans moving forward with Hull.

And even if he was willing to sell, the Tigers would want to recoup most of the £4.5million they paid Norwich for him just 12 months ago. That would put him firmly outside of Portsmouth’s budget, even if he has a lot of resale value.
Or at least it should.
The Fratton Park club certainly don’t have a lot of cash to splash on new players this summer, and a move for Kamara might spell an end to their summer spending.
Also, some fans might suggest that Kamara’s spell with Hull proves he’s not cut out for the Championship. He only notched six goals and four assists this season.
