Ex-Bayern Munich star posts blue heart as Portsmouth signing complete
John Mousinho has been on the hunt for new Portsmouth signings all summer.
The South Coast club have been weakened since the end of the Championship campaign, with multiple stars departing.
Mousinho has struggled to bring players into the South Coast club, with the signing of Rob Atkinson looking unlikely for Portsmouth.
However, the manager has not given up on stregthening his squad this summer.
Douglas Costa reacts to Adrian Segecic and Hayden Matthews reunion
Adrian Segecic signed for Portsmouth on Wednesday to become Pompey’s first incoming of the summer.
The 21-year-old has become the fourth Aussie in Portsmouth’s squad since his move.
The attacker left Sydney FC after he ended the last campaign as the top scorer in the A-League.
Segecic is even tipped to go to the World Cup next summer, now that he has moved to Fratton Park.
Another player who had recently left Sydney FC is Hayden Matthews, who joined Pompey back in January.
The two former teammates have since posted their reunion on Instagram (20 June) via Portsmouth’s official account.
Many Sydney FC players have reacted to the news, including former Brazilian international and Bayern Munich star Douglas Costa.
Now, at the end of his career, the 34-year-old joined the Australian side last year and has played multiple times with the duo.
On the Instagram post, he simply commented with a blue heart.
Segecic may take time to adapt to the Championship
One of the best things about the signing of Segecic is how early Portsmouth have completed the move.
The Aussie is no doubt going to need time to adapt to the Championship, with the English second-tier being completely different to the A-League.

However, he will now have around two months to get used to his surroundings, plus pre-season to adapt to Mousinho’s needs.
Hopefully, this will be sufficient time for him to complete this task and become an important asset for Portsmouth this season.
If so, Segecic could be one of the South Coast club’s best players.
