Portsmouth fans split after Alex Robertson transfer latest at Fratton Park
Portsmouth appear to be adopting a clear transfer strategy over recent years.
John Mousinho and his team have tasted great success bringing in Australian exports, with Adrian Segecic the latest in a long line.
Some social media accounts have been poking fun at Pompey for this approach to signing players, which could continue as the summer drags on.

Alex Robertson linked with return to Fratton Park
Alex Robertson is an Australian midfielder who enjoyed a successful loan spell at Portsmouth during their 2023-24 season.
The 22-year-old made 27 appearances as Pompey claimed the League One title.
Mousinho made moves to try and sign Robertson on a permanent deal last summer from Manchester City, but he opted for a transfer to Cardiff instead.
Some might say that decision backfired, as Cardiff were relegated to League One and Pompey stayed up.
However, it has been suggested that this could open the door for Robertson to rejoin the Blues this summer at Fratton Park
As good as Robertson was during his loan spell on the South Coast, Pompey fans appear to be split on the prospect of bringing him back.
Discussing the potential transfer on X, some fans said they’d love to see him return, while others remain annoyed that he turned them down last summer.
Wow.

Robertson to Pompey would be a dream transfer
Robertson is a young Australian midfielder, so of course, he meets the criteria for Mousinho.
All jokes aside, he has shown he is a talented player who cut it at Championship level, and it would be a real coup to sign him permanently.
Appearances | Minutes Played | Goals | Assists |
39 | 2582 | 4 | 3 |
The biggest stumbling block would be Cardiff City. It’s unclear whether the Bluebirds would be willing to sell one of their rising stars.
They paid an initial £1million for Robertson last summer, which could potentially rise as high as £3m with add-ons.
If they want a significant fee, that could be a stumbling block for Pompey. And why wouldn’t they? Robertson still has three years left on his contract.
With that said, if Cardiff are willing to sell, Portsmouth would surely be his preferred destination. The chance to work under Mousinho and alongside fellow Australian players again would surely appeal.
