Portsmouth fans react to ‘fantastic’ update from Fratton Park – ‘Finally’
Portsmouth fans have plenty of reason to be optimistic ahead of the upcoming Championship season.
John Mousinho’s side rallied in the latter stages of the season last time out, and ultimately ended up beating the drop in relatively comfortable fashion.
Pompey typically have a fairly tight budget compared to their second tier rivals, but that isn’t expected to deter Mousinho and Co. as they look to bring in sensible and cost-effective players to strengthen their hand ahead of next term.
Adrian Segecic is the latest man to make the switch to the South Coast, and he boasts the kind of goalscoring record that is sure to have plenty of fans excited about his future.

Portsmouth fans react as new retro clothing announced
Mousinho’s future at Fratton Park is now seemingly settled, following a few weeks at the start of the summer when links arose with other vacant Championship jobs.
The 39-year-old is central to Pompey’s future over the next few years, and he will provide plenty of reason to believe that they can once again survive in the Championship, despite what is shaping up to be a tough division once again next term.
He will be working hard alongside the club’s hierarchy to ensure that summer transfer plans are executed well, and if they can achieve that, then they will surely be in a good position by the time the opening day of the campaign comes around.
While new signings are understandably a source of great excitement for fans, the summer is also an intriguing time due to the announcement of pre-season friendlies, as well as the announcement of the new kit designs and the training wear.
Pompey revealed two new additions to their range of retro clothing on Tuesday (24 June), which has drawn something of a mixed reaction from fans. The new release features a retro shirt and a track jacket from 1992.
Some supporters have heaped praise on the designs, while others have aimed criticism at the jacket in particular.
Pompey will need strong home form again next season
Portsmouth will need to turn Fratton Park into a fortress once again if they are to survive in the Championship next term.
Mousinho’s men had the division’s eighth-best home record last season, and the 40 points they picked up on home turf were invaluable in their survival effort.
Fratton Park boasts one of the league’s best atmospheres, and on their day, Pompey can make it an extremely difficult place for opposition teams to get a result.
The Championship will likely get tougher again next term, as the likes of Birmingham and Wrexham come up from League One. If Portsmouth are to survive for another season, the fans will have to play their part.
