Portsmouth fans all say the same thing as new Segecic picture emerges
Portsmouth fans are seemingly all delighted about the signing of Adrian Segecic.
The Australian playmaker bagged 18 goals for Sydney FC last season, making him the joint-top goalscorer in the A-League.
That caught the attention of John Mousinho, who swooped to add Segecic to his roster of Australian stars earlier in June in a bargain free transfer.

Pompey fans react to new photo of Australian stars in training
Portsmouth uploaded a photo of all four Aussies in pre-season training to its social media accounts on Wednesday (25 June).
Segecic posed next to Thomas Waddingham, Jacob Farrell and Hayden Matthews at the club’s training ground.
The photo received plenty of love from Pompey fans, who are generally supportive of the interesting new transfer strategy at Fratton Park.
However, the comment that kept popping up on the photo of the four Aussies was: One more.
Some fans explicitly named Alex Robertson as the next Aussie they want to see signing a Portsmouth contract.
Others kept it vague as the speculation surrounding Robertson’s potential return to Fratton Park has been difficult to ignore, since Cardiff’s relegation.
Let’s add another 🤩

Some fans also called for Melbourne Victory midfielder Ryan Teague to be signed. There has been no media speculation suggesting he’s on Portsmouth’s radar, but perhaps that’s one to keep an eye on.
Pompey are in the market for defensive midfielders this summer, after all.
Portsmouth’s Australian quartet will be given opportunities
There may be some concerns surrounding whether Pompey’s Australian quartet can cut it in the Championship.
However, the early signs are good.
Matthews was solid enough in defence before getting sidelined by a nasty ankle injury.
Waddingham looks like a handful up front, but again, a lengthy injury cut his season short. The jury is still out on Farrell, who also has been recovering from a long-term knee problem.
Still, there has been enough evidence to suggest that all four Aussies can shine in the Championship this season, if they remain fit.
Player | Age |
Thomas Waddingham | 20 |
Hayden Matthews | 21 |
Adrian Segecic | 21 |
Jacob Farrell | 22 |
If Robertson can be added, that would be the icing on the cake, although Cardiff are likely to want more than Pompey are willing to offer for him.
Still, Pompey fans remain excited to have landed Segecic, who will be desperate to bring his red-hot goalscoring form over from Australia to England.
These players are all still in their early twenties, but they’ll likely be given a chance to shine this season, provided they can remain fit.
