Triantis transfer talks held amid Portsmouth links as ‘final decision’ made
Portsmouth are keen on signing Sunderland midfielder Nectarios Triantis post the Black Cats’ promotion to the Premier League.
The Australian has spent the last two seasons on loan at Hibs and has excelled in the SPFL.
The 22-year-old made 34 league appearances last season and played a key role in guiding the Scottish side to a third-place finish behind Celtic and Rangers.

Hibs are in talks with the Black Cats to sign him, but his future remains up in the air.
If they are to secure his services, they will need to smash their club record and the player does not seem overly keen on returning, as things stand.
Pompey are keeping tabs on Triantis, but the likes of Blackburn Rovers and German side Pauli are also keen.

Despite impressing in the SPFL, he’s not expected to get regular game time at Sunderland as they will want Premier League ready players.

They should capitalise on this by targeting Triantis for a Fratton Park move.
His ball-playing ability and versatility as a centre-back or defensive midfielder suit Mousinho’s possession-based style.
A move to Portsmouth offers Triantis regular game time to develop, while the club gains a young, cost-effective talent.
