Portsmouth ace Callum Lang reacts as Rangers finalise new signing

Callum Lang has reacted after Scottish club Rangers confirmed a new transfer.

The Gers finished in second place in the Scottish Premiership last season, a stunning 17 points behind arch-rivals Celtic.

They have brought in former Southampton boss Russell Martin to try and catch up with the Hoops and have started to make waves in the transfer market ahead of the new campaign.

Portsmouth need Lang to step up next season

John Mousinho‘s side secured Championship survival comfortably last season, finishing in 16th place in their first season back in the division, which led to significant interest in the manager’s services.

Now, they need to push on and take a step towards the upper echelons of the second tier, and get closer to a Premier League return.

To do that, they need Lang to be in top form; the forward notched 10 goals and two assists last season in 32 matches, which is a solid return from the 26-year-old.

If he can match that next season and others around him can perform to a similar standard, Mousinho’s side should be in good stead.

They have already brought in Australian attacker Adrian Segecic, who registered 21 goal contributions in 36 appearances last season from the left flank.

He is a versatile forward, which will only serve to help the PO4 outfit in their pursuit of a higher calling and could ease the burden on the likes of Lang and Colby Bishop.

He is the only addition so far, though, and the South Coast outfit needs more business in the next few weeks if they are to have any chance of bettering their performance last season.

It is absolutely crucial that the Eisners back Mousinho to improve his squad, otherwise it could be a very concerning campaign for Lang and Co.
