Portsmouth official account responds to fan who wants new Mousinho signing
Portsmouth have been quiet so far in the transfer window as the new season approaches.
Adrian Segecic remains the only arrival at Fratton Park so far this summer, arriving from Sydney FC.
Griffin Yow looks to be the latest target, but the lack of concrete rumours has rightly got fans nervous with the new season just one month away.
Another player linked with a move to the South Coast is Karl Hein, who could look to leave Arsenal following the signing of Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The Portsmouth X (formerly Twitter) admin has responded.

Portsmouth admin posts picture of Nicolas Schmid amid Hein rumours
Amid a frustrating summer thus far, one Pompey fan made a tongue-in-cheek comment under a post showing the players at pre-season training.
The fan replied: “Post a pic of the admin so we can pretend we signed someone.”
The Portsmouth admin swiftly replied with a picture of Nicolas Schmid, saying, “Have a photo of Nico instead.”
Competition | Appearances | Clean sheets |
Championship | 35 | 8 |
Schmid, 28, signed from Blau Weiss Linz last summer and immediately became a mainstay in the Pompey goal, making 35 appearances in the Championship in 2024/25.
Pompey need to start making signings sooner rather than later
Although the starting squad has been largely unchanged so far this window, Portsmouth’s lack of depth remains a major concern.
Mousinho reportedly went into the window looking to bring in another striker to provide an alternative option alongside Callum Lang and Colby Bishop, but nothing has materialised as of yet.
Mark Kosznovszky had emerged as a target to replace Freddie Potts, who returned to West Ham, but that deal has become complicated due to Sheffield United joining the race.
Although Segecic is a good goalscoring option on the wing to complement well with Josh Murphy, and Yow is a great back-up option to develop in years to come, it’s not enough for what could be one of the strongest Championships in recent memory, with Birmingham City and Wrexham arriving from League One.
It’s not quite panic stations just yet as there’s still weeks to go before the season starts, but with the first pre-season game just nine days away, it is certainly a worry.
