Portsmouth twist in move to sign Pelle Mattsson as £1.7m bid submitted
Pelle Mattsson is on Portsmouth’s radar this summer as they prepare for the upcoming Championship season.
The 23-year-old is seen as one of Denmark’s best upcoming talents and has shone at Silkeborg IF.
In 2024, he won the Danish Cup and helped secure European football last season.
Therefore, Portsmouth are looking to sign Mattsson as John Mousinho’s search for a new midfielder goes on.

Norwich City join race for Mattsson
With the transfer window set to endure many twists and turns, it comes as no surprise that many Championship clubs are targeting the same players.
Now, according to Bold (5 July), Norwich City have entered the race to sign Mattsson.
The Canaries have already been active in the Danish transfer market and are believed to be close to signing Mathias Kvistgaarden from Brøndby.

Now the report claims that Liam Manning’s side have turned their attention to Mattsson.
A £1.7 million bid has been submitted by the East Anglia club, but this has since been rejected.
It is said it would take something “extraordinary” to sell Mattsson this summer, who has one and a half years left on his contract.
However, it is still believed that Portsmouth hold an interest in the midfielder as the transfer window rages on.

John Mousinho cannot let midfielder saga drag throughout the transfer window
It is clear that a new midfielder is vital at Portsmouth this summer. However, it does not appear that Pompey are close to securing a player in this position.
It was reported on Sunday that Sheffield United have entered the race for Mark Kosznovszky, who has been a Portsmouth target.
This, combined with the Mattsson news, is no doubt cause for concern for the Fratton Park faithful.
Hopefully, Mousinho quickly makes a move to secure a new midfielder this summer, as Portsmouth cannot afford for this saga to drag on throughout the summer.
