Portsmouth squad welcomes ex-Luton goalkeeper after contract announcement

Portsmouth are taking a close look at a couple of trialists throughout their pre-season camp in Slovakia.

Preparations are now well underway ahead of Portsmouth‘s return to Championship action this August, though there is still a lot of work to be done before that.

Recruitment at Fratton Park is going to play a deciding role in the success that Pompey can find next season, with Adrian Segecic the only new arrival so far this summer.

However, that is expected to change in the coming weeks, and a new goalkeeper could be on his way to the Blues.

Stuart Moore on trial with Pompey after recent exit

Stuart Moore spent two years at Morecambe before his exit was officially announced back in May via their official club site, with his contract expiring.

The 30-year-old shotstopper spent a brief period of time with the Blues as a teenager, before a move to Reading, where he failed to make an appearance.

Several loan moves followed for the keeper, including one at Luton Town, with it now revealed by Andrew Moon via X (8 July) that he is in Slovakia on trial with Pompey.

Whether he is offered a contract or not remains to be seen, though with four goalkeepers already on the books at Fratton Park, there is a question to be had as to whether his addition would be needed.

Mousinho can achieve something special with backing this summer

Mousinho has already showcased the fact that he is a more than capable manager in the Championship, though his ability to progress with the Blues will be decided by the business they conduct in the coming weeks.

Reinforcements all over the pitch are needed to some extent, while there will also be some interest in those currently with the club.

It is shaping up to be an exciting few weeks, and Pompey will be afforded no margin for error when it comes to the decisions they make.
