Portsmouth pre-season fixtures – three things to look out for as Segecic set for bow
Portsmouth begin their schedule of pre-season fixtures next Tuesday.
John Mousinho’s men have returned from their training camp in Slovakia and will be allowed to rest until Monday.
Next week, they face trips to Woking (15 July), Farnborough (16 July) and Crawley Town (19 July).
Here, Pompey News outlines three things to look out for in these fixtures.

Trialists Nathan Ferguson and Stuart Moore will get chances to impress
Trailists Nathan Ferguson and Stuart Moore, who both trained with the Pompey squad in Bratislava, will get the opportunity to play in these friendly games.
Ferguson came through the ranks at West Bromwich Albion, breaking into the first team in 2019-20. He eventually moved on to Crystal Palace, where a series of injuries halted his career.
The 24-year-old left-back has barely played a competitive fixture this decade, but he’ll get the chance to show Mousinho what he can do.
Moore is a goalkeeper who was released by Morecombe in May. Before that, he was at Blackpool, Wealdstone and MK Dons.

New signing Adrian Segecic will make his first appearances in a Pompey shirt
Reports from Portsmouth’s pre-season training sessions have been raving over new signing Adrian Segecic.
Segecic, 21, was signed on a free transfer from Sydney FC. He is currently Portsmouth’s only summer signing. As one of the top scorers in Australia’s A-League last season, he arrives with a lot of expectation on his shoulders.
Journalists suggest that Segecic has been one of the sharpest players in Pompey’s pre-season training sessions, so it will be exciting to see what he can do in these friendlies.
Bowat is fit and raring to go
There was a lot of hype surrounding Ibane Bowat when he arrived at Portsmouth from Fulham last summer.
Sadly, the Scot was struck down by injury in pre-season and is yet to make a competitive appearance for Portsmouth.
Portsmouth pre-season friendlies | |
Woking (A) | 15 July |
Farnborough (A) | 16 July |
Crawley (A) | 19 July |
Reading (A) | 26 July |
Havant and Waterlooville (A) | 29 July |
PEC Zwolle (H) | 2 August |
He has been training this summer though, and should be available for selection in these upcoming friendlies.
Bowat’s return may feel like a new signing, and it will be great to see how he holds up in these games.
