Portsmouth fans split on John Swift transfer

John Swift looks set to complete his move to Portsmouth imminently. He took a medical on Saturday (12 July) and will be offered a two-year contract if he passes it.

The midfielder was born in Portsmouth and is keen on a move to Fratton Park.

However, Portsmouth fans are split on whether it’s a good deal for the club.

Some supporters think it’s a great transfer, while others are concerned about the midfielder’s wages and supposed lack of work ethic.

Hughes confirms Portsmouth are still interested in Robertson and Kamara

Portsmouth have been linked with moves for Abu Kamara and Alex Robertson all summer. Both impressed during loan spells at Fratton Park in the 2023-24 season and are believed to be available due to the dire situations of their clubs, Hull and Cardiff.

Portsmouth sporting director Rich Hughes has confirmed that Pompey remain interested in signing both players, but conceded it might not be as easy as some fans are suggesting.

Josh Murphy reacts to Newcastle transfer news

Josh Murphy has always been interested in affairs at Newcastle United, as his twin brother Jacob plays for them.

The Toon Army will compete in the Champions League after finishing fifth in the Premier League last season.

And Murphy seems impressed with their dealings in the transfer market. Murphy ‘liked’ a post announcing Anthony Elanga as their latest signing. Elanga will compete with Jacob Murphy for a place on Newcastle’s right wing.

Riva Casley to depart Portsmouth Women

A dramatic overhaul of the Portsmouth Women squad is taking place this summer.

Manager Jay Salder has made a handful of impressive signings after several players were released at the end of their contracts.

Another departure has been announced in the last 24 hours though. Riva Casley is set to leave Portsmouth to join Oxford United.
