Portsmouth confirm Primmer signing in double new transfer
Portsmouth Women’s transfer window has been an incredibly hectic one so far.
Lucy Johnson and Jazz Bull have been recent additions to Jay Sadler’s side, who needed to act promptly over the summer following the departure of six members of their squad after their contracts expired.
Among those to leave were notable names such as Annie Rolf and Nicole Barrett.
Despite the disappointment of key players leaving, supporters of Portsmouth Women have two new signings to get excited about as they continue the rebuild of their squad.
Primmer and Erhabor confirmed additions at Pompey
In addition to the six players who left after their contracts had expired, Riva Casley also chose to leave Westleigh Park, with the defender opting to return to Oxford.
If Sadler wants to keep his side in the Women’s Super League 2 (WSL2) again, then the latest additions of Tia Primmer and Comfort Erhabor will help to restore some of the squad depth he has lost so far.
Both signings were recently announced on Portsmouth’s website (18 July).
Primmer, 21, has signed a one-year deal on the south coast with an option of extending her deal another 12 months.
The midfielder is a product of Reading’s academy and even featured for them in the WSL back in 2021.
Erhabor rejoins Pompey permanently ahead of the new season after initially joining on loan from Brighton for the second half of the 2024/25 campaign.
This is a crucial signing for Sadler, with Hannah Haughton’s exit meaning the Blues were potentially left short of goalkeeper options ahead of the new season.
Like Primmer, Erhabor joins after signing a one-year deal with a club option for a further 12-month extension.
Whilst not possessing the experience of Haughton, at just 20, Pompey supporters will hope Erhabor will continue to develop and grow into being their new long-term goalkeeper.

Sadler doing an impressive job considering the high squad turnover
Along with the numerous outgoings, Pompey have brought in six new faces, but how this new look side will perform next season remains to be seen.
After being awarded the manager of the season award for ensuring the PO4 outfit stayed in the second tier, Sadler could be on course to retain this award, given the amount of transition his squad has undergone in the summer.
Losing a cult hero like Sophie Quirk is something Sadler may never be able to replace, after the winger announced she would be joining Bournemouth.
But Pompey Women must put this disappointment behind them and continue to assemble a squad strong enough to compete next season.
This is a good start to that.
