Portsmouth fans react to ‘disgraceful’ Crawley postponement, one wants points deduction
Portsmouth face disruption to their pre-season preparations already, with their friendly clash with Crawley now postponed.
Pompey have played two friendlies so far, with victories over Woking and Farnborough, but the League Two side would have provided a bigger test.
John Mousinho’s side were set to travel to the Broadfield Stadium on Saturday, but heavy rainfall has meant the game has now been postponed.
Portsmouth fans have now reacted to the decision, which came less than three hours before kick-off, and many cannot believe that rain has stopped a fixture in July.

Portsmouth fans slam Crawley postponement
Postponements across the EFL are not uncommon in winter, with ice, heavy winds and rainfall often meaning that games cannot be played.
However, in what has been one of the driest months of July in recent memory, one morning of rain at Crawley has led to a match being postponed, with some fans already making the 58-mile trip.
Pompey fans have taken to X to express their incredulous surprise at the announcement, and clearly, some are used to the finer facilities offered at Championship grounds after their return last year, and one even called for a points deduction.
Portsmouth have just one home pre-season friendly
Portsmouth’s pre-season campaign will see them face a variety of opposition as they prepare for another tough year in the Championship.
Pompey have trips to face Reading and Havant & Waterlooville before one friendly at Fratton Park ahead of the new season.
This game will be an exciting one against Dutch side PEC Zwolle, and will give fans one last chance to see their new signings before competitive action returns.
Portsmouth begin the season with an away trip to Oxford United, before facing pre-season opponents Reading again in the Carabao Cup at home.
The Crawley match being postponed is a frustration for the team as well as the fans, as there will be fewer opportunities for the squad to build their match fitness, and for new arrivals such as John Swift to integrate themselves into the side.
