Callum Lang footage emerges at Portsmouth after transfer saga
Callum Lang’s future at Portsmouth has been thrown into doubt in recent weeks.
Preston North End were said to have tried, and failed, to sign the forward after placing a bid worth around £2million, which was swiftly rejected.
Pompey are keen to keep hold of the 26-year-old, who scored 10 goals last season following his move from Wigan Athletic in January 2024.

Lang spotted back in training
A versatile forward capable of playing across the front line, as well as in midfield, Lang is a key part of John Mousinho’s plans for next season.
Portsmouth have signed John Swift and Adrian Segecic already this summer and hope to confirm the signing of Mark Kosznovszky imminently, with the midfielder reportedly due to undergo his medical.
But news of Preston’s interest in Lang worried fans, especially when the forward was absent from Pompey’s squad for their pre-season friendly against Crawley Town.
It has emerged, however, that the Englishman was always to miss that match after suffering a slight hamstring strain.

And Lang has now seemingly returned to training, after being spotted in a video posted to Portsmouth’s (21 July) social media accounts.
The 26-year-old was seen in full flight in the video, which involved several drills and was captioned: “A new week.”
Some fans have theorised that Lang may now be close to signing a new contract, after it was reported that any move to Preston is not progressing.
Lang is expected to return to action on Saturday (22 July), when Mousinho’s side take on League One club Reading.
Lang must stay in blue
Making sure Lang stays at Fratton Park is a key objective for Portsmouth this summer, with the forward due to play a key part in any push further up the table.
And the additions of Segecic and Swift should fill Pompey fans with excitement, with the prospect of the three playing together likely enough to make any blue dream of a promotion push.
A new contract must be prioritised for now, however, with Preston’s bid unlikely to be the last foreign interest in Lang this summer.
