This fixture represents an increase in the quality of opponent for John Mousinho’s men, who have beaten non-league Woking and Farnborough, as well as League Two side Crawley side so far this summer.

Tickets still available for Pompey’s pre-season trip to Reading

Portsmouth have been given an allocation of 2,100 tickets for Saturday’s friendly, and they remain available to buy online via the club’s e-ticketing website.

Tickets are £12 for adults, £7 for seniors and as low as £3 for children aged under 14.

Away fans will be seated in the South stand of the Select Car Leasing stadium, while home fans will sit in the John Madejeski stand.

Portsmouth fans travel options to Reading

Portsmouth Supporters Club offers coach travel to all away games, although tickets for the trip to Reading have sold out.

Train journeys from Portsmouth stations to Reading Green Park take just under two hours, with return tickets costing around £40 for adults.

Rail replacement bus services are due to be in operation on some routes.

The stadium is about 15 minutes walk from Reading Green Park station.

Warm weather should persist for Pompey vs Reading friendly

The Met Office suggests that the weather should be perfect for a game of football in Reading on Saturday.

Temperatures around 23 degrees are predicted, with a very low chance of rain and maximum wind speeds of eight miles per hour.
