Waddingham starts, new signing dropped – Portsmouth predicted XI v Havant

John Mousinho’s Portsmouth face Havant & Waterlooville in their next pre-season friendly.

Colby Bishop was on the scoresheet twice for Pompey in their 4-0 victory over Reading on Saturday, with pre-season certainly going well for the Blues.

Mousinho has been able to give gametime to those in need, while giving the new arrivals some time to get used to their new teammates.

Tuesday night’s clash with Havant & Waterlooville will provide Pompey with another chance to prepare for the new campaign, with a handful of changes expected.

Mousinho to make four changes for Portsmouth

Nicolas Schmid started in goal against Reading, and Mousinho is likely to keep that the same for Tuesday night, with one change in front of him.

A back four of Connor Ogilvie, Regan Poole, Conor Shaughnessy and Terry Devlin may be the go-to, with the latter the only change.

Jordan Williams started at right back for the Blues in their last pre-season outing, and could be handed a brief spell out of the side.

With the signings of Adrian Segecic and Mark Kosznovszky, Pompey have bolstered their midfield options, though neither are expected to start in the clash, despite the former starting the previous fixture.

Instead, a midfield duo of Marlon Pack could be what Mousinho opts for, with John Swift handed a start in the 10 role just ahead of them.

Paddy Lane to be handed start in new look attack

Paddy Lane had a frustrating campaign last time out, and he will be looking to make a much bigger impact this season.

He could replace Josh Murphy on the left flank, with Callum Lang occupying the same position on the other side for Portsmouth.

Bishop scored twice for Pompey in their last outing, but he could be dropped to the bench in favour of Thomas Waddingham, who is yet to make much of an impact at Fratton Park since his arrival in January.
