Portsmouth announcement looks close as image emerges from Fratton Park
Portsmouth are set to stage their latest reveal in the coming days as they prepare for the Championship’s return.
The Blues have enjoyed a positive pre-season so far, with wins against Farnborough, Crawley and Reading setting up John Mousinho’s side for a strong start.
Pompey have also been active in the transfer market, bringing in John Swift, Adrian Segecic, Mark Kosznovszky and Luke Le Roux, who unexpectedly joined the South Coast club last week.
And with the Championship opener just over a week away, Portsmouth fans will hope the business does not stop there.

Portsmouth set to confirm away kit
Portsmouth’s home shirt reveal faced mixed reactions from fans.
The shirt features patterns of dark blue dots throughout the classic colours, described as a “visual nod to our coastal identity.”
But many fans were unimpressed, describing the shirt as bland and boring, with some calls even made to drop Nike as Pompey’s official kit supplier.
Portsmouth will hope the new away shirt will face a better response, with the release set to take place soon
Pompey fan Brooke Smedley took to social media to post a picture taken within the club’s official shop at Fratton Park, showing an empty rack where the new away shirt will presumably be presented.
Last season’s away kit featured an interesting combination of turquoise and black, completed by hooped lines descending the front.
Some fans have been hoping to see a centralised badge on one of the kits this season with Nike having a history of doing so, including with the England national team.
Portsmouth shirt can become iconic
Football shirts can be hard to please everyone with, taste is, after all, subjective.
But it is often what happens on the pitch that can make a fan base fall in love with a kit.
New shirts are money-makers for clubs, but they are also symbols to commemorate every single new season.
If that season brings success, the shirt is often among the first emblems to be thought of in the fans’ memories. Portsmouth will hope this season’s shirts can have a similar effect.
