Portsmouth fans annoyed after long-awaited announcement – ‘Terrible’

Portsmouth fans have a lot to be excited about as the new Championship season approaches.

John Mousinho has spent well in the transfer market. A lot of injured first-team players have returned to action during pre-season. None of last season’s star players have been sold.

However, a long-awaited announcement from the club has left a sour taste in some fans’ mouths.

Portsmouth fans’ mixed reaction to new away kit

Portsmouth fans had known that their new away kit was going to be released at 8am on Thursday. The release date had previously been announced on social media.

A lot of fans had been eagerly waiting to see the design, and they were treated to a white shirt with a blue trim around a chevron design on the chest.

It’s already available to buy online or at the club store for £59.95.

Judging by the reaction on social media, it seems as if many fans will be passing on the opportunity to buy this shirt.

While some left brief reactions such as ‘vile’ or ‘that’s terrible’, others turned into fashion experts, pointing out the precise reasons why the design doesn’t work.

It should be mentioned that some fans said they were excited to buy the shirt. Portsmouth fans on social media do tend to complain about any merchandise released by the club.

Portsmouth desperately need to improve their away form this season

Portsmouth had the second-worst away form in the Championship last season, picking up just 14 points on the road.

They only won three of their 23 away games in the league and were well beaten in a lot of those other fixtures.

Mousinho will be desperate to improve on that record in the upcoming season. He has mentioned that again in an interview this week. They can’t afford to rely on their form at Fratton Park if they want to progress in the Championship.

Pompey used a cyan away shirt last season, which was more widely praised by fans upon its release, but they didn’t win one competitive game in that kit.

If the Blues can grab some famous wins in the new white shirt this season, it will earn a place in the supporters’ hearts regardless of what they think about the design.
