Bianchini already thinks Portsmouth fans are ‘crazy’ after what they did

Florian Bianchini is officially a Portsmouth player and has been fully won over by supporters already.

Bianchini, 24, has arrived on a loan deal from Swansea City, just one year after arriving in Wales from French side SC Bastia.

The Frenchman made his debut against PEC Zwolle at Fratton Park on Saturday (2 August), coming off the bench to assist the winning goal from Thomas Waddingham.

The winger will be hoping its the first of many on the south coast, and he is already looking forward to seeing the Pompey faithful after what they did last season.

Bianchini excited after Portsmouth fans go crazy against Swansea

The former French youth international played in both games against Portsmouth last season with Swansea, including starting the New Year’s Day fixture at Fratton Park.

Pompey put the Swans to the sword in the home fixture, thrashing them 4-0 with goals from Josh Murphy, Paddy Lane, Ryley Towler and Colby Bishop.

Bianchini was taken off after 74 minutes, and he has praised the fans for the atmosphere during the game.

Speaking to Portsmouth’s website (4 August), Bianchini said: “I was told all about the size of Pompey and the fact there is a big fanbase here, along with some good players.

“The atmosphere was great when I played here with Swansea last season and the fans were crazy because of the result.”

Portsmouth loan will give Bianchini chance to prove himself

Bianchini’s Swansea spell hasn’t exact gone to plan so far since arriving from France, having not been given much of a chance last season.

The winger only started eight games last season, and only clocked 1,083 minutes in the Championship, which isn’t enough time for him to prove himself in England.

Bianchini will have a better opportunity to find his feet with John Mousinho‘s side and make a name for himself in the Championship for years to come, whether that be at Fratton park or not.
