Portsmouth set sights on Tottenham gem clearly liked by Thomas Frank

Portsmouth have strengthened their squad in the summer transfer window, but could still make further additions to their team.

Five new signings have arrived so far, including wingers Adrian Segecic and Florian Bianchini, but another player in the position is now being targeted.

Portsmouth will need a big squad to compete throughout the season, and loan signings could come in useful.

Young talents from the Premier League are being eyed up, and one Tottenham starlet could now arrive at Pompey.

Portsmouth want Yang Min-hyeok from Tottenham

Portsmouth found success with Freddie Potts as a loanee from the top flight, and are now keen on making another similar signing.

Tottenham starlet Yang Min-hyeok is seemingly available for loan, and John Mousinho is eager to bring him to Pompey.

The News have reported (August 5) that the former QPR loanee could be sent to the Championship again, and Portsmouth are among his admirers.

Yang joined Spurs in January before spending the second half of last season on loan at QPR, and has featured under Thomas Frank in pre-season, demonstarting the Dane’s admiration for the youngster.

A winger capable of playing on both sides, the 19-year-old could arrive on a low-cost loan deal to add extra depth and speed in wide areas.

Portsmouth could benefit from more Premier League loans

While the transfer policy at the club has focused on permanent deals, loans can be a great way to pad the squad with quality depth.

Potts’ success last season saw him become a key player, and while this came with the caveat that he then eventually departed, Pompey benefited from having him in the squad.

If Yang also joins, he will arrive with a bit of Championship experience, having scored twice for QPR, as a high-potential talent who can develop throughout the season.

Portsmouth’s priority will be to remain in the Championship, and any extra depth would be welcomed in attacking areas.
