Portsmouth’s 2025-26 Championship campaign is set to begin on Saturday as they travel to Oxford United.
John Mousinho’s side have undergone extensive pre-season preparations, which were rounded off by a 1-0 win over Dutch side Zwolle last Saturday (August 2).
The Blues have welcomed new signings such as Florian Bianchini to Fratton Park, while veteran winger Matt Ritchie has been axed in a much-changed Pompey squad.

Tickets were sold thick and fast by Pompey after they became available following the Championship’s fixture announcement.

Portsmouth FC’s official website confirmed on 23 July that Pompey had sold their full allocation of tickets for the opening game of the 2025-26 Championship campaign at Oxford.
It means that Mousinho’s men will be backed by almost 1,500 fans at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday.
Pompey’s continued amazing support continues to show that the Blues’ fanbase is one of the best in the second tier.

Portsmouth fans’ travel plans for Oxford
During last season’s trip to the O’s, there was free parking for 2,000 cars at the stadium, which was allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
There was also free parking available along Grenoble Road, adjacent to the ground.
Official coach travel to the game can be booked via the official Portsmouth website, with spaces are priced £25 for adults and £20 for children (15 and under).
Alternatively, the nearest train station to the Kassam Stadium is Oxford Station, which is approximately five miles from the stadium.
Supporters are advised that taxis will take around 15 minutes to get to the ground from the rank outside the station and will usually cost around £15-20.

Supporters to expect warm weather in Oxford
The Met Office suggests that the weather in Oxford is supposed to reach up to 25 degrees Celsius on Saturday.
The heat is set to peak at 4pm, so supporters are advised to take care on what should be a delightful day on the weather front.
