Portsmouth fans slam Florian Bianchini after ‘shocking’ scenes vs Oxford United – ‘Liability’

Portsmouth began their 2025/26 campaign with a victory as they overcame Oxford United 1-0 on Saturday.

Adrian Segecic netted the only goal of the game against the U’s in what was a dream competitive debut for the Aussie.

On top of the attacker, multiple other Portsmouth players performed well against Oxford in what could be a priceless victory.

However, many of the Fratton Park faithful were less than impressed with Florian Bianchini, who also made his competitive debut against the U’s.

Portsmouth fans question Bianchini’s ability in victory vs Oxford United

Bianchini was given the nod to start against Oxford United on Saturday, featuring on the left wing.

However, Bianchini, who is on loan from Swansea City struggled and missed a series of golden opportunities throughout the match.

As a result, many Portsmouth fans are now questioning whether the attacker is capable of having an impact at Pompey this season.

However, many other fans are now getting behind the 24-year-old, believing he will become good as the season goes on.

Bianchini vs Oxford United

It is fair to say that Bianchini did not have the best game against Oxford United.

According to Fotmob on 10 August, the attacker was the worst Portsmouth player to start, earning just a 6.2 rating.

During his time on the pitch, the 24-year-old had a 0.41 xG, yet didn’t manage to find the net.

This resulted in one big chance missed in what was a disappointing display for the loanee on his competitive Portsmouth debut.

However, John Mousinho should not give up on the attacker yet, as there were plenty of signs that he could become good as the season goes on.

Hopefully, Bianchini will quickly find his feet at Fratton Park and regain his confidence out on the pitch before it proves costly for Pompey.
