Supercomputer predicts what’ll happen when Portsmouth face Norwich

Portsmouth will be looking to make it two Championship wins from two when they host Norwich City this weekend.

Pompey are back at Fratton Park four days on from a disappointing 2-1 Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Reading.

However, John Mousinho’s men did overcome Oxford United 1-0 in their only Championship game to date thanks to new signing Adrian Segecic’s goal.

The visit of Norwich presents a chance for Portsmouth to extend the winning start in the league, with Mousinho having plenty of selection calls to ponder for that match.

Portsmouth deemed favourites to beat Norwich

Norwich started their Championship season with a 2-1 home loss against Millwall, which they followed up with a win by the same scoreline against Watford in the Carabao Cup.

Josh Sargent cancelled out Camiel Neghli’s goal in the Millwall match, only for Macauley Langstaff to score a late winner.

Liam Manning will be eager to get back on track this weekend, but Opta Analyst‘s supercomputer has Portsmouth as the favourites at Fratton Park.

There is a 45.9% chance of Portsmouth taking all three points, compared to 27.4 per cent for Norwich. The draw is therefore given a 26.7 per cent likelihood of happening.

Those are certainly odds that the passionate Pompey fanbase will welcome as their side have a chance to potentially top the table come the end of Saturday.

Mark Kosznovszky and Luke Le Roux pushing for full Portsmouth debuts

Summer signings Mark Kosznovszky and Luke Le Roux have got minutes under their belt this season and will each now be pushing for a full debut.

However, changes will likely be few and far between, especially with Harvey Blair, Josh Murphy and Marlon Pack nursing injury problems.

While it can be argued the pressure is off Portsmouth thanks to last weekend’s opening-day win, fans have every right to be demanding with a top-six finish certainly not impossible this season.

If that is to be achieved, these are exactly the type of games Mousinho’s men need to be coming away from with maximum points.

Fingers crossed the supercomputer is right on this occasion.
