Liam Manning makes Portsmouth admission ahead of Norwich City showdown
Portsmouth are preparing for their first Championship match at Fratton Park this season as Norwich City travel down to the South Coast.
John Mousinho’s side have already gotten off to a fantastic start in the second tier as Portsmouth beat Oxford United 1-0 last weekend.
However, Pompey face an equally difficult challenge on Saturday as they welcome promotion hopefuls Norwich City to Fratton Park.
The visitors lost their opening match of the season 2-1 to Millwall, and now, new boss Liam Manning has given his verdict on Mousinho’s side.

Liam Manning: Bristol City relishing difficult Portsmouth tie
There is plenty to look forward to on Saturday for Portsmouth fans.
It will be the first time many supporters see some of the latest signings in action in the Championship, after stars such as Adrian Segecic joined Portsmouth this summer.
With Mousinho clearly strengthening his squad in recent weeks, Manning is aware of the threat Pompey possesses, especially at Fratton Park.

The manager told The PinkUn on 14 August: “They (Portsmouth) show just how difficult the division is, and throw Fratton Park into the mix and how difficult it is to go down there.
“But after the week we have had, good and bad, we should relish it.”
Portsmouth’s record against Norwich City
Against Norwich City, Portsmouth have an impressive recent record. In their last eight meetings, the Canaries have only won once, with Pompey winning four.
This includes Portsmouth’s 5-3 victory over Norwich on Good Friday last season in what was a massive boost in their relegation battle.
| Portsmouth’s record vs Norwich City | |
| Wins | 22 |
| Draws | 16 |
| Losses | 24 |
Mousinho will be looking to continue this streak on Saturday and continue their good form so far in this campaign.
After Portsmouth’s 2-1 defeat to Reading in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, Pompey will also be looking to bounce back quickly.
Hopefully, the South Coast club is able to secure all three points on Saturday and continue their 100 per cent start to the Championship season.
