Portsmouth fans will love what Colby Bishop said after West Brom goal
Portsmouth picked up a hard-fought point against West Brom on Saturday after Colby Bishop’s headed equaliser in the second half.
Bishop glanced home Josh Murphy’s cross after 56 minutes to make the score 1-1, and that’s how it remained at full-time.
It was the best possible way for Bishop to make up for his missed penalty against Norwich on the previous matchday.
Bishop became Portsmouth’s joint-top goalscorer of the 21st century with that goal, and Pompey fans will love what he said after the game.

Colby Bishop makes exciting wish for rest of his career
Bishop’s goal was a thing of true beauty, although he owed a lot to the assist of Josh Murphy.
Murphy beat his marker and then whipped in a pinpoint cross right onto the head of his teammate.
The pace of the cross was so fast that Bishop only needed to guide it toward goal for it to have enough power to beat the keeper.
Speaking after the match, Bishop said that it was a pleasure to play alongside Murphy and that he hoped to do so for the rest of his career.
He said: “We all know how good Josh is – it’s frightening. I hope I can keep playing alongside him until the day I hang up my boots.
“It’s a pleasure to have balls like that as a striker and he puts so much pace onto them. They’re amazing, and it’s just about trying to make the right contact.”
Portsmouth will be reliant on Murphy and Bishop this season
Murphy was the top assist-maker in the Championship last season, and he showed exactly why with this moment of magic.
It’s no secret that Murphy and Bishop are the danger men for Pompey, and it was this combination that sent the away fans home satisfied.
Portsmouth are a noticeably stronger team when these two are on the field, but manager John Mousinho will be doing all he can to ensure his team doesn’t become over-reliant on them.

With just a week until the transfer window closes, Portsmouth still look short of strength in depth up front and on the wing.
Mousinho has brought in Florian Bianchini and Yang Min-hyeok on season-long loan deals, but Pompey will still look decidedly short of firepower if either Murphy or Bishop get injured.
Pompey fans will be crossing their fingers and hoping that Mousinho can pull off an exciting last-minute transfer to address this weakness.
