Abu Kamara medical scheduled as ex-Portsmouth star finds new home
Portsmouth hope to be active in the final week of the transfer window.
John Mousinho is likely seeking a right winger now that Matt Ritchie has moved on and Callum Lang is out with a lengthy injury.
They definitely won’t be signing Abu Kamara from Hull City, though.
Portsmouth fans have been calling for Kamara’s return all summer, but he’s now finalising a move to an overseas club.

Abu Kamara seals season-long loan deal at Getafe with option to buy included
Abu Kamara won the hearts of Portsmouth fans during a sensational loan spell at Fratton Park in the 2023-24 season.
Kamara terrorised defences, scored 10 goals and made 11 assists, as Pompey were promoted as League One champions.
John Mousinho had shared his desire to sign Kamara permanently after he returned to his parent club Norwich, but Hull were the highest bidders and the winger went there again.
It was thought Pompey might stand a chance of signing him this summer, as Hull desperately need to sell players to raise funds.
However, it has now emerged that Kamara will Getafe on a season-long loan. The deal includes an option to buy at the end of this season.
Could this news finally put the Abu Kamara to Portsmouth rumours to bed?
They say “never fall in love with a loan player”. Perhaps because that makes you prone to tweeting non-stop about that player returning on a permanent deal.
That’s what’s happened to some Pompey fans on X, anyway.
It always seemed unlikely that Portsmouth could afford to bid enough to prise Kamara away from Hull. That didn’t stop the demands for Pompey to sign him doing the rounds on social media all summer long.

The worst thing is: Kamara is technically only moving on loan. So, some supporters may still think there’s still a chance of him moving to Fratton Park next summer.
The best-case scenario is that Mousinho signs a right-winger who’s even more magical in the next few days.
Perhaps that’s the only way that the Kamara nostalgia will finally come to an end.
