How many signings Portsmouth could make on deadline day as names revealed
John Mousinho has not been afraid to overhaul his Portsmouth squad this summer despite a successful 2024/25 campaign.
So far this summer, Pompey have brought in seven new faces, with Portsmouth’s capture of Adrian Segecic no doubt being the highlight so far.
This has paid off so far this campaign, with Portsmouth’s 1-0 victory over Preston at Fratton Park on Saturday taking them up to eighth in the Championship table.
However, Mousinho is not set to end his business here, with Portsmouth having until 7 pm to complete any deals on Monday.

Makenzie Kirk heads potential Portsmouth incomings
Pompey have been linked to multiple players before deadline day, with multiple incomings expected across Monday.
According to The News on 1 September, Makenzie Kirk is set to sign for Portsmouth.
This comes after reports suggested that Portsmouth had reached an agreement with St. Johnstone.
On top of this, it’s claimed that Franco Umeh could still move to Fratton Park as Mousinho searches for a winger.
- Umeh joined Crystal Palace in 2024
- The winger has featured on the Eagles’ bench multiple times
- Umeh is yet to make a first-team appearance in his career
The 20-year-old winger is believed to have plenty of potential at Crystal Palace, and could move to Pompey on loan.

How good is Makenzie Kirk?
If Portsmouth do get the signing of Kirk over the line, it would no doubt be a solid addition.
The striker has been in fine form this season and has netted four goals in seven matches.
As it stands, the 21-year-old looks set to improve on his goal tally from last season, when he scored 11 in 45 matches.
Peterborough were also interested in Kirk and saw a bid knocked back earlier in the window.
Hopefully, after the international break, the striker can continue this form at Fratton Park and quickly find the back of the net in Mousinho’s side.
