Portsmouth can launch last-minute swoop for Abu Kamara after deadline day update
Abu Kamara is no doubt loved at Portsmouth.
The forward joined Pompey on loan during the 2023/24 campaign, scoring 10 goals as they won the League One title.
Since his return to Hull City, there has been a hope that the 22-year-old may return to the South Coast club.
Kamara had been linked with a Hull City exit throughout the transfer window, which had increased hope that Portsmouth could swoop in.
Now, the transfer saga has taken another twist on deadline day.
Abu Kamara’s loan to Getafe could fall through
It had been reported that Kamara was set to go on a season-long loan to Getafe.
However, according to Baz Cooper via X on 1 September, the deal could fall through.
There are some potential issues with the Spanish FA regarding the registration of Kamara being granted.
It is stated that it could scupper the deal despite it being signed on Friday night.

Therefore, Portsmouth have the perfect opportunity to swoop in for Kamara.
Given that Hull are willing to let him move on, they may be open to alternative moves rather than holding out for the Getafe issue to be resolved.
Bringing Kamara back to Fratton Park would no doubt be a stunning deal, and Mousinho must look to get it over the line.

Could Abu Kamara be a potential Josh Murphy replacement?
Given the interest in Murphy, Kamara could prove to be an ideal replacement if a sale transpires.
While Portsmouth remains firm that Murphy isn’t for sale, Leicester’s interest could prove to be hard to ignore.
However, if Mousinho can bring in Kamara and keep the winger, then it would be a stunning deadline day.
Hopefully, the manager considers a late hijack for the Hull star before Getafe resolves the registration issues.
