Which Portsmouth matches fans can watch in the UK this September

Portsmouth are set for a busy September once the international break ends.

The South Coast club face three Championship clashes, with the biggest no doubt being the South Coast derby.

Given the good start Pompey have had to the new season, John Mousinho will be confident that he can pick up results throughout the month.

On top of this, the addition of Conor Chaplin at Portsmouth should make a big impact and further help pick up victories.

Now, Pompey News has examined which matches have been selected for TV coverage in the UK this September, ahead of an exciting month.

Southampton vs Portsmouth selected for TV coverage

With Southampton versus Portsmouth being the first time the two clubs have met since 2019, it is no doubt a highly anticipated fixture.

As a result, it comes as no surprise that Sky Sports have selected the South Coast derby to be broadcast live in the UK.

The match is set to be shown on Sky Sports Football on 14 September, with kick-off at 12pm.

However, Portsmouth’s following matches against Sheffield Wednesday at Fratton Park and versus Ipswich Town at Portman Road have not been selected for TV coverage.

Southampton already causing controversy ahead of South Coast derby

While the match is on TV, many Pompey fans are trying to get tickets to travel to St. Mary’s for the match.

However, controversy has already struck in the build-up to the fixture, with Southampton charging Portsmouth fans £40 for an adult ticket.

This has rightly caused outrage for Pompey fans, who are being charged ridiculous prices to see their team play.

Nevertheless, Portsmouth have sold out their 2,700 allocation for the match, with the visitors no doubt having a strong chance of coming away with all three points.
