John Mousinho shares encouraging Josh Murphy injury update with duo on track to return for Ipswich vs Portsmouth
Portsmouth face Ipswich Town on Saturday as they look to quickly get back to winning ways.
Travelling to Portman Road, Ipswich are overwhelming favourites to overcome John Mousinho’s side.
This comes after Portsmouth failed to beat a struggling Sheffield Wednesday side last weekend, as they lost 2-0 at Fratton Park.
One of the most notable absentees from the match was Josh Murphy, who was ruled out of the clash with a knock.
Now, Mousinho has provided a team news update ahead of their clash at Portman Road.

Josh Murphy could play in Ipswich vs Portsmouth
It was confirmed last week that the winger had picked up a minor ankle injury.
As a result, Florian Bianchini was played in his place, but failed to impress at Fratton Park.
Mousinho was hopeful that Murphy might be back for the Ipswich clash, with the knock not being seen as serious.
Now, the manager has confirmed to Portsmouth on 24 September that the winger is still in contention of playing a part against the Tractor Boys.
He said: “Murphy is ok, we will look for Murphy to train on Friday and then make a decision on the back of the session on Friday.”
- Murphy was a big miss for Portsmouth against Sheffield Wednesday
- The winger was a surprise absentee on Saturday
- However, Murphy could now be set to play against the Owls
On top of this, Mousinho was confirmed that Yang Min-hyeok is also available for selection against Ipswich.
The winger has not featured since Portsmouth’s opening day win against Oxford United, and could now play a part against the Tractor Boys.
He added: “Min-hyeok is back in training and will be available for the weekend.”

Conor Shaughnessy injury update
Another player who is currently out on the sidelines is Conor Shaughnessy.
The centre-back did play against Sheffield Wednesday, but picked up an injury in the second half, which forced him off the field.
With the defender having issues with his hamstring, it was clear that he would not be back for the Ipswich tie.
However, Mousinho is still unsure how long Shaughnessy will spend on the sidelines.
He said: “We don’t know the extent of that yet. We are waiting to see a specialist after Shaughnessy having a scan.
“It is not going to be a short-term fix, we are just waiting to see how long Shaughnessy is out on the back of that.
“A real blow for us, and it is one we are just going to have to deal with.”
