Ipswich vs Portsmouth: 10 players could now miss out amid injury and suspension latest
Portsmouth are looking to get back to winning ways on Saturday when they take on Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
It will no doubt be a difficult game for John Mousinho’s side, especially after their recent downturn in form.
As a result, Ipswich are the favourites for the Portsmouth clash, in the first meeting between the two clubs since 2022.
While a victory for Portsmouth would end their dire five-year record at Portman Road, issues with their squad’s fitness have made the match ever more challenging.
As a result, Pompey News has highlighted all the injury and suspension news you need to know heading into the tie.

Josh Murphy one of 10 players who could miss Ipswich vs Portsmouth
Josh Murphy was a big miss for Portsmouth last weekend in their 2-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
While the winger’s injury is only suspected to be minor, Mousinho could not 100 per cent confirm if Murphy will feature at Portman Road.
The Pompey manager has confirmed that Franco Umeh and Harvey Blair are back in training. However, the Ipswich game comes too soon for the pair.
- Franco Umeh is still waiting to make his debut for Portsmouth after arriving on deadline day
- However, with the winger still injured, he will not be available for the Ipswich tie
- Umeh is back in training and is expected to be available soon
On top of this, Conor Shaughnessy and Nicolas Schmid will definitely miss Saturday’s game after their recent injuries, while Callum Lang and Thomas Waddingham remain on the sidelines.
Conor Chaplin is also unable to play this fixture, due to it being against his parent club.
For the opposition, Kieran McKenna confirmed in his recent press conference that Wes Burns is Ipswich’s only injury concern going into the match.
Jacob Greaves will also be absent against Portsmouth due to his red card against Blackburn.

International break needs to come quickly for Portsmouth
While no one likes an international break, it is clear that Portsmouth are in dire need of it.
As it stands, Pompey could be without eight players for Ipswich, and if there are more injuries in the match, there is no doubt that the South Coast club would be in a crisis.
With the international break just over a week away, Mousinho will be hoping his squad can quickly make it to this date in the hope that many of his currently sidelined stars will be back after the restart.
However, before then, Pompey need to ensure no more injuries or setbacks happen either in the Ipswich tie or the showdowns against Watford and Middlesbrough next week.
